Man&Machine

My AI journey has shifted dramatically over the last few months, from Sci-Fi inspired imagery creation of astronauts running marathons on Mars, to critical interrogation of business propositions and strategies, an acceleration of my productivity and a 3x increase in my “staff”.

Accelerated Workflows
and Time on Task

Probably the most important breakthrough in my integration of AI into my every day work it that I can now do more, with the same, or less time. This impacts your time time to market and ability to see actionable results from me.

But it doesn’t start and end with AI. For me, AI is a starting point. You are not hiring me because I bought a subscription to ChatGPT. You are hiring me because of my years of experience solving business problems and creating opportunity pre-AI. My use of AI augmented results is just an additional benefit, and a competitive advantage that I can provide.

But AI will never take the place of my experience, curiosity and intuition.

My AI Interfaces

I originally called this section My AI ToolKit. But when I really think about it, at least in terms of how I use AI to augment my work, its really a set of interfaces. Webster defines interface as “the place at which independent and often unrelated systems meet and act on or communicate with each other”. Think man/machine. A system that provides inputs to guide desired outputs or interactions.

DAILY

ChatGPT

I tend to go to ChatGPT first, to help surface and organise ideas saving hours of time in research. I am finding it is a bit better at that.

Claude

I use Claude to digest and summarise complex research as a launching pad where I then pick up the parts I want, fact check (Ai doesn't do facts very well yet) and then rewrite and reassemble.

OFTEN

MidJourney

I use Gen AI image tools as a jump start to visual brainstorming as well the development of finished assets. This is mostly for things like ideation, presentations and documents.

Dall-E

I find I am using DALL-E a bit more as my visual designer.

Otter.AI

Otter is my go-to AI meeting assistant that records audio, writes notes, captures action items, and generates summaries.

TESTING

Perplexity

I think this will start to be used more as I like that it surfaces the citations that I can deep dive into.

Co-Pilot

I need to spend more time here, but there is no doubt Microsoft is in a winning position in the Gen AI space, over time.

How can I help?
